The THETAmetrix Pearl Sensor Array is a highly accurate system developed to measure parameters including acceleration, heading, pitch and more. The Pearl Sensor Array is available in two different types; the 3A and 3AMG. The number of sensors required can be tailored to suit the user's needs. Every system is connected to a Main Processing Unit and is shipped in a compact carry case with all cables provided.
The THETAmetrix 3A Pearl Sensor Array utilises a 3 axis accelerometer that measures the inclination and provides orientation to the vertical in 2D but does not output heading data. The 3A system is wired to a Master Processing Unit (MPU) which collates the data and transmits it to the Pearl Sensor software (included) running on Windows PC or laptop. The MPU can be inserted into a pocket on the subject or taped to the body. In the Standard system the MPU is connected to a PC via USB cable (provided). An alternative wireless MPU can be purchased which transmits the data via Bluetooth to the PC.
An example of our 3A Pearl Sensor Array with 6 sensors inside the carry case is shown to the right.
The THETAmetrix 3AMG Pearl Sensor Array not only utilises a 3 axis accelerometer but also a 3 axis magnetometer and 3 axis rate gyro to measure orientation in 3 dimensions. Similarly to the 3A system, the 3AMG is wired to a Master Processing Unit (MPU) which collates the data and transmits it to the Pearl Sensor software (included) running on Windows PC or laptop. The MPU can be inserted into a pocket on the subject or taped to the body. In the Standard system the MPU is connected to a PC via USB cable (provided). An alternative wireless MPU can be purchased which transmits the data via Bluetooth to the PC.
