A bespoke datalogger was created for a PhD project in spinal biomechanics for the University of Roehampton. The datalogger is comprised of a miniature PC (15cm x 11cm x 4.5cm) with 4USB, LAN VGA, audio ports and can be powered by mains or battery. The device runs powerful software enabling high-speed data collection and can be operated by either keyboard and mouse or a simple hand held button. The system is housed in a robust PELI case for ease of use and protection, designed so the case can be closed during live data capture. This ensures a high level of portability when being powered by the battery.
